Music is the language of the soul and dance is the expression of emotions and happiness.  A variety of musical instruments like Congo, Casio, Harmonium, Tabla, Drums, Dholak, Flute, Violin, Guitar etc. bring out the musical talent in the students and help them relieve their stress. The Vidyalaya has a dedicated and well trained musical band too.

 
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Gurugram, following its objective of promoting extra-curricular activities along with the curriculum, has a Music room. This facility introduces the students to the wonderful world of music and arts in its own unique way and, at the same time, it helps them to unwind from the daily routine of studies and exams. Music room gives students a unique opportunity to learn Indian Classical, Marathi Music and Dances, Vocal and Instrumental Music along with Dance.

                                                     Art Room

The art education programme is an expansion of the Samiti's pace setting activities. Besides providing an opportunity for the students to inculcate nationalistic values through cross interchange, it also emphasizes upon education enrichment and integration with the community in which the Vidyalaya is located. To understand the meaning of art and creativity, the concept of art education and its significance in the school curriculum. In addition to their intrinsic value, the arts give an insight into other aspects of life, helping people understand themselves and the world in which they live.

Main Activities of Art In Education Workshops

  • Different Performing Art traditions, painting styles, crafts and theatre in education work have been taught to students in JNVs.
  •  Traditional wisdom of our village societies is passed on to the students through songs, folk ballads, art and traditional theatre workshops.
  •  Eminent personalities from the field of literary, visual, theatre and per forming arts have been involved to train the students.
  • Renowned educationist and eminent personalities in public life are also associated for shaping leadership qualities.
